Questions of the Week

Mood:
Tired but relaxed

What’s the weather like out your way?
Sunny, hot and humid

Your favorite purse?
At the moment I'm using one that I got from Old Navy on sale. It's very sloucy and has pink and red and green flowers on it. I've been getting a lot of compliments on it. I wouldn't say it's my favorite but I'm loving it at the moment.

Flip-flops: yay or nay?
Flip Flops are my shoe of choice. That's what I wear the majority of the time except for during the winter.

What’s one of the best experiences you’ve had lately?
Feeling my baby girl move around and kick in my belly all day long :)

What’s your favorite facial feature?
Hmmm...I don't know? My skin? lol

Favorite summer reading?
I actually haven't read a whole lot this summer but I keep wanting to pick up a new book. Maybe that's what I should do.

Outfit:
Right now I have a floral print top and some bermuda shorts.

Weekly goals:
To work out a little and eat as healthy as possible.

28 weeks!

"By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world."

I have officially entered into my third trimester. Now it's the home stretch! It almost seems like time has slowed down quite a bit. I know it will probably go by even slower as the weeks go on. I'm just so anxious to meet this little girl already. I want to see what color her eyes, I want to see if she is going to have lots of hair and if it's going to be dark like mine or a little lighter like Jordans. We were talking just yesterday wondering if she is going to have her daddy's nose or mine.

I have a new hobby and it's making hair bows! I have been going hair bow crazy. I decided she needs a different bow to match every outfit. Haha. So that's what I have been busy doing. They are a lot of fun to make and they keep me busy in the times that I'm not working and I'm alone to think about all the things that need to be done before she gets here.

I have been feeling great for the most part. My energy has taken a nose dive and I feel like a waddling penguin when I walk. lol. I have come to the conclusion that my nights of a good nights rest are over. I'm up about every hour each night tossing and turning and making about 4 or 5 bathroom runs. Oh the joys of pregnancy! And this is only the beginning. It only gets worse from here on out. Some days I don't feel quite as huge but then some days I look at myself in the mirror and can't imagine my belly getting any bigger than it already is. And I still have three more months to go! My ankles and feet have been killing me. I'm guessing it's just the extra weight that my body isn't used to. It's worse after I work. Being on my feet for four hours straight is probably not the best for my poor ankles. It's nice to come home and put my feet up and relax after. Other than that, I am still enjoying my pregnancy. No huge complaints. I love feeling our little baby J kicking and rolling around in my tummy. I'm really trying to enjoy every second of that because I know that's one thing I will miss once she is here. Here is a picture of how my belly is looking from today.
Well, here's to the last three months!

Penny's New Best Friend

Meet Donkey Kong!
She got this from her dad and we can't figure it out but she hasn't tore him to shreds beyond recognition and she has had him for months already. That is unheard of when it comes to her toys. She usually chews a hole into them within an hour and rips out the stuffing a few seconds later. This one she has chewed a few holes into him and almost started taking out some stuffing but we tell her no right away then she stops.

She loves to carry him around but he is half her size and kinda heavy so sometimes when she jumps on the bed she doesn't quite make it the first try. And of course she loves to enjoy one of her favorite past times with him...gazing out the window!

Being the snuggler she is, she loves to snuggle with him every once in a while.

One of her newest favorite things to do with him is to pass out while playing. She somehow ends up like this and falls asleep. We think he must be very comforting or something. lol.

It cracks us up everytime. She has been doing it about every evening now after throwing him around and swinging him by his tie. What a silly pup we have!

Baby Shower...and then some...

I had my baby shower on Sunday, June 27th. And let me tell you, the events leading up to this day were cursed. lol. Luckily my baby shower turned out perfect!
Let me start with the night before my flight out to Tucson. I had many plans to do my hair the night before because I had a 6:45 flight the next morning. I wanted my toenails and fingernails to look pretty and I was going to pack everything thing up so I wouldn't have to worry about anything in the morning. These were great plans... until I laid in bedat about 6 pm that night from feeling exhausted. I thought it could be from being busy at work that morning and I went a little crazy cleaning when I got home. (If anyone knows me they know I'm a clean freak and I wanted everything to be clean before I left.) My back started hurting really bad and I started feeling very nauseous. I ended up falling asleep and woke up at midnight that night with a really bad stomach ache and cramps. Of course being pregnant everything is worse and you worry about every little pain.
I ended up waking Jordan up because I knew something was wrong so he went out at one in the morning to get me some medicine that I could take for my stomach ache. All we had was pepto bismol. On his way out to the car and half asleep, he missed a step and twisted his ankle. All for the sake of getting me some medicine. He got home and I took my medicine and drank some ginger ale. It took us a while to get back to sleep but we finally did.
I figured maybe I could just sleep it off and wake up better in the morning. I was wrong! I woke up a little earlier so I could get a few things done that I didn't get a chance to the night before. I was still feeling dizzy and nauseous and thought a shower would make it better. Wrong again! Let's just say I got 'sick' for the first time in my WHOLE pregnancy. I felt like I was going to die. I was almost contemplating not going. I didn't know if I could handle it on a plane. I was even tempted to go into the ER.

Luckily Jordan got a message on his phone that my flight had been delayed three hours which turned out to be really good for me because that meant I had three extra hours to rest. So that's what I did. I took some tylonel because I had a fever and slept. I woke up and was feeling a little better. So we were off to the airport.
Because of the delay the airport was packed and it took me a little longer to get through check in and security. I had to ask people to cut in front of them so I could get through faster. They were making their last calls for my flight. I ran to my gate and I bet I was the last one on the flight. Instead of having 2 hours for my layover I had only about 20 minutes to get to my next flight. I barely made it yet again. I was trying to run through the airport but it didn't go very well considering I wasn't feeling well, my legs were cramping and I have a belly that slows me down. But I made it!! I was probably the last one on that flight as well.
I was never so excited to be on steady ground before. I had about an hour and some to kill since I was meeting my mom. I figured I would wait it out at the baggage claim and let everyone else get their luggage first. Once everyone left, I got up to look for my suitcase. I couldn't seem to find my suitcase. There were only two left and neither were mine. So I went to ask thinking maybe I was just missing it. Well, it turned out that my luggage did not make it on to my flight. Wonderful! The guy told me it should be in around 8 pm that night and they would deliver it to where I was staying.
That night I waited. I wanted to make sure to be home on time to get my suitcase. 11 pm rolls around. Nothing. I call to see where it is. It's out with the delivery guy but probably won't get to me till tomorrow morning. Great! I had to go out to the store to buy stuff that I needed that night like a toothbrush and stuff for my contacts. That morning I waited. Nothing. We called some more. Nobody gave us answers. Nobody could get a hold of the delivery guy. I had nothing to wear for my own baby shower! So we went shopping early in the morning. I was so mad because I had the perfect dress picked out and everything. I'm so lucky I had my Quyana and my mom because if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have a curling iron or makeup or shampoo.
And I am also so thankful that even how crappy I was feeling before my baby shower, it all went away and I felt great! I was so happy to see my family and my friends. It was so nice to catch up with friends I hadn't seen for years. And everyone got me and baby J such beautiful gifts. Everyone made me feel so good. It made me forget about the adventure I had getting to that point.
Here are just a few pictures!

I love this picture because baby Ryan contributed to my baby shower. He wanted to help "Gramma" so he sat next to her and watched what she was doing then started copying. Silly boy!

Here is my family and friends! I love all these people.

Some of my beautiful gifts with my 'J' cake!

My mom got this for baby J. I thought it was perfect since she is a Disney baby! Baby Ryan knew she was in the bag so he was anxious for me to open it up because he kept saying "Minnie Mouse" and wanted to play with her.

Rita made this blanket and I was so thrilled to have one of my own since I've seen her beautiful work before.

Cake time! The cupcake cake was awesome. We didn't have to worry about cutting it. We just passed them out. haha.

Rebecca made this picture. I love it! I missed these girls.

Daniella and me have been friends since third grade. We used to play cabbage patch dolls and barbies together all the time. Now we are three weeks apart and both having little girls. Time flies and we are grown ups now. When did that happen!? lol. I was so happy to see her!

My Cristina! I love this girl. She's one of my best friends.

All three of us go way back and still great friends to this day!

And here is my beautiful sister in law. She is due in about 5 weeks and she still looks amazing! I can't wait to meet little Annabelle.
My mother in law, Sharnell. She is very excited because we are having her first two granddaughters after six grandsons!

My beautiful momma and me! She is so amazing and she's the one that made my baby shower the best!

And one last picture with my gifts and balloons. Yes, everything did fit into my suitcase! My suitcase was very heavy by the time I got done packing it but it wasn't over weight so I didn't have to pay more.
Oh, by the way, I got my suitcase at about 5 pm that day. Delta will be getting a formal complaint from me very soon!

My trip was very short but I did get to squeeze in some time with my in laws and nephews. Wyatt really grew in the two months I haven't been in Tucson. He got a new haircut and I barely recognized him. But he looked as adorable as ever!

And these two silly little boogers. They were so happy to see me! Leland was even planning a sleep over in his room for all of us. But the number one rule: No backpacks or shoes on his bed because they might be dirty! lol. I love these boys.

I still felt pretty sick for the rest of my trip and was dreading the flight back home. It turned out that I had a stomach flu and was sick in bed for the rest of the week. I lived off of crackers, bananas and rice for about three days. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing loving husband who took such great care of me.
One last thing- A quick little update on baby J. I had my 25 week check up on Thursday the first. Everything was great. I met with my new midwife and I decided I'm going to stick with her for the rest of my pregnancy. I feel really good about that. Baby J is healthy and growing right on track. In three weeks I'm taking my glucose test then I start seeing the dr. every two weeks. I will be entering into my third trimester in two more weeks. Where has the time gone?! Time has been flying but at the same time I can't wait to hold my baby girl in my arms.
Nothing new has happend with the nursery. Right now it's covered with everything from the baby shower and some furniture. It's getting there.
Sorry this is so long! lol. But I hope you enjoyed reading my baby shower adventure.
