Like Father, Like Daughter!

I took this picture of Jessalyn a few weeks ago and laughed at it everytime I would look at it. Then I realized it reminded me of a funny picture I took of Jordan about 4 years ago. I came across it and if they didn't already look like twins...now they definitely do! Facial expressions and all. I can't help but laugh whenever I look at this. HAHA!

Deanna Rose Farmstead

Since it didn't feel like a sauna outside on Tuesday we decided to take Jessalyn to the Deanna Rose Farmstead. I'm sure she will appreciate it more when she is older but she still had fun looking at most of the animals.

I'm pretty sure she thought these baby goats were puppies! haha. When she is older she can feed these little babies with a bottle.

(Click on this one to make it bigger)

This little baby cow is named Annabelle. I thought it was so cute because our little niece has the same name.

There was also a buffalo, an eagle, and some more baby goats. There was a big goat that stuck it's head out of the fence and we scooted her stroller a little closer. She was not a fan of that. She started crying and got really scared of it.

I think she is going through a scared phase. She was scared of a lot of random things. Like this saddle that daddy tried to sit her on.

She wasn't scared of this but I was when we went inside of it. I'm scared of weird things. haha. Maybe Jessalyn will take after me when it comes to that.

I absolutely love all the greenery! It's so pretty out there.

I'm sure we will be going back a lot more as she gets older. It's very close to where we live and free on the weekdays!

10 Months!

Well, here we are. 10 months later. I know everyone says it all the time and it's so cliche...but where did the time go?! I knew it was going to go by fast but I think it should slow down just a little. At the same time I love watching Jessalyn grow and learn new things and I can't wait to see the next stages in life she has coming up.
This has definitely been a crazy month. Jessalyn did lose her Poppa this month but she will have pictures to always remember him. He absolutely loved his grand baby girl.

She has turned into a super fast crawler. Especially when she has something she's not supposed to. Or when I say, "I'm going to get you." When she crawls super fast she does it with her head down. She once crawled right into a bench. She also does her super fast crawl when she hears an awesome song come on the tv. She crawls as fast as she can into the living room so she can jam to the song.

This little baby has turned into such a character this month. She has such a goofy personality. She has learned how to wave and will sometimes wave at strangers. Only the ones she feels like waving at. I've said it before but she LOVES music. I think she is starting to love it more and more. She even started dancing to it now. The other day a Maroon 5 song came on the tv. She crawled right up to the coffee table and started moving her little butt to this song. I never even heard the song until then but she loved it and had to move to it. She had Jordan and me cracking up!

She learned to say "puppy"! I guess you can say it's her third word since "Momma" and "dada" were her first two. She calls Penny "Puppy" all the time. I noticed that I when I talk about Penny to her I call her puppy instead of Penny so I'm sure that's why she started saying it. She says it when she sees other dogs too and other animals. I guess she thinks all animals are puppies. It's funny the way she says it. She kind of whispers it. I'm not sure why but it's pretty darn cute.

She learned to shake her head "no' whenever she hears the word or whenever I say "no, no, no". I kind of sing it when I say it so she knows when I do then she shakes her head. Sometimes I do it just to see her shake her head. Haha. She will also do it when she sees someone else shaking their head.

Just this past week she started doing this really weird screeching laugh. I think that's my fault too because I noticed I make a weird noise when I play with her that kind of sounds like that. It took her a really long time to laugh and it took a lot to get her to laugh. Now she is finding everything funny. And when she gets REALLY excited her laugh turns into a scream.

Penny and Jessalyn are best buddies. Penny loved hanging around her because she knows she will get some food. Jessalyn likes to share her goldfish with Penny. I think she thinks Jessalyn is super cute because she likes to be close to her and lick her face even though sometimes Jess will pull her ears or grab her too tight. Penny actually tolerates a lot and never really gets mad. I have to say "Be nice to Puppy. Nice puppy. Nice puppy," as I'm helping her pet Penny nice and gentle. I don't think she quite understands but she thinks it's pretty hilarious and laughs as I do it.

She has her right top tooth to add to her two little bottom teeth and three more top teeth to add to the collection. Yes I am still nursing. She doesn't do it very often but sometimes she will bite down and I have to kind of yell "NO!" or tap her head. Sometimes she'll stop and sometimes she'll think it's a game and smile and try to do it again. But there isn't any trouble there at all. We are still going strong in that department with no intention of ending anytime soon.

She is VERY attached to me but she adores her daddy. I love how excited she gets when he comes home from school or wakes up in the morning. She wants him to hold her when he gets home and cries if he puts her down too soon.

Our baby girl is the greatest joy in our lives. With everything that has gone on this month all we have to do is see our little baby's face and everything seems right in the world again. She can turn any crappy moment into a good one. Even when she is whining just because she is tired and wants to be held. Haha. I can't wait to see what's in store for this next month.

The Temple

The day I found out about my dad I didn't want to go home. I was out when I got the call so we decided to take a drive.

What a great place to drive to. The future Kansas City Temple. It looks like it's pretty close to being done.

It's about a 30 minute drive from where we live. We talked about the Temple on the drive there and one of the main uses for it. It brought me a lot of comfort knowing that I'm going to see my Pop again.

Just being there close to the Temple brought me some joy and hope and the spirit was strong. I can't wait for the Temple to be done and I can't wait even more for us to be able to go to the Temple as a family and receive all the many blessings that it will bring.

Favorite time of the day

Our favorite time of day is after dinner and after bath time when all four of us (Me, Jordan, Jessalyn and Penny) all lay in our kind size bed to watch our tv shows. After a long stressful day it feels great just to relax with the ones you love in our nice comfy bed.
Last night Jessalyn had this sweet hair do after her bath. It kinda reminds me of her daddy's high school hair style. haha!

She has a little box of toys that she plays with while we watch tv. She crawls around the bed and all over us. Especially if we have a snack. Lately it has been way too hot so she has been sleeping only in her diaper. We love our silly little diaper baby!
