Fishing at the cabin

We stayed in a cabin this weekend in Steelville, Missouri with James and Heather and the boys. We decided to change it up a little instead of camping in tents.
The day after we got there it rained all day. And it wasn't just a little bit of rain. It was pouring cats and dogs kind of rain. It would stop for a little while then start up again. The kids were disappointed that we weren't able to go fishing but we made the best of it. Puzzles and card games and reading and bubbles. It was fun for us adults to sit around and do nothing. Not so much for some of the kids.

I had a baby attached to me most of the time since he's going through some separation anxiety issues. Sometimes he would hang out with daddy.
Thankfully the rain stopped the next day and we were able to go fishing. Jordan and James fished with all the kids while the mommies sat in the shade with the babies and watched.
Jess attempted fishing for a minute but she decided she would rather play in the water or just hang out with Roman.

Jayven got his feet in the water but really just wanted to play in it with his hands too.
Everyone caught a fish or two. None of the fish were big enough to keep but it was still fun for them to catch them then let them go.

It was fun until our quiet fishing party got crashed by a big group of people so we decided to call it a day and go back to the cabin.

James and the got for to enjoy the hot tub. Jayven wanted to get in so bad he didn't realize uncle James was holding him until about 3 minutes later. He realized he wasn't with mommy or daddy. Getting Jess in took a little bribing but she finally did it.
We were all exhausted by the time we left but had a fun time!

Jayven is 9 months old!

Jayven turned 9 months yesterday!! I think this is one of the funnest ages.
He did great at his well check up. Daddy was there to help. He weighs 19 pounds and is 27 inches long. His head circumference is 17 inches. He's a happy and healthy growing boy!
He was fine as long as daddy was close by.
Here's what Jayven is up to at 9 months old:
-He started crawling about a week ago
-he knows the difference from "mama" and "dadda" and he also know who "sister" is when we say "Where's sister?"
-he says "momma" and "dadda"
-he got his first tooth about 2 weeks ago and his second one is not far behind.
-he is a very big mommas boy. He cries as soon as I walk away and is happiest sitting on mommys lap or in mommys arms.
-he loves to snuggle with daddy and also loves falling asleep on him.
-he loves all food! He hasn't tried anything he doesn't like yet. He eats pretty much everything we eat now. He prefers real food and especially likes to feed himself.
-he's still breastfeeding and plan on going as long as he wants.
-he loves his sister even though sometimes she can be too rough with him. She still always finds a way to make him smile.
-he loves to play with tv remotes, phone chargers and tags on blankets or toys or anything else that has tags on it.

Mall fun!

Other than Target, the mall is Jessalyn's favorite place. She is my daughter right. Haha. She has been begging to go to the mall for a while now and I don't like to go without Jordan because she has a routine and it's a long one and I just don't like to do it alone. So we promised her a trip to the mall once daddy was on break.

We parked on the opposite side of the mall from where we usually park so we asked if she wanted to stop at the 'Mickey store' first and right away she said "No! I want to see the baby dolls!" Of course she does because that usually where our mall trip starts. So to American girl we went.
Luckily Jayven is still too young to realize how girly the doll store is. He had some fun playing with the boy doll though.

I love that store almost as much as she does. It's so fun just to go and play because even the employees help you take out the dolls and accessories to play with. I love looking at all the cute little mini doll accessories.
The girl of the year is Isabelle and she's a ballerina and she makes clothes apparently. She also has some awesome pink streaks in her hair. Her little sewing studio is the cutest thing ever! Complete with a working sewing machine. It doesn't actually see but it does turn on. Jess says she wants it for her "birs-day". I think we will have to just settle with playing with it in the store. That stuff is not cheap!
After we play in the doll store, we have to stop and get popcorn. Then off to the Mickey store. She loves to go and try on all the princess tiaras and dream about which princess dress she would wear. And also dance around to all the frozen songs.

Next is the merry go round. She doesn't always get to ride it but sometimes we treat her to a ride or two. Usually daddy rides with her because mommy has horrible motion sickness but she begged me to go with her this time.  After a ride or two she plays in the little kids play area. Then we stop by build a bear and browse the store for a few minutes. We've never bought anything from there yet but it's fun to look.
Then we end our trip at the book store so she can play with the train set and put on a show on the little stage.
She read books to baby brother too. When she reads she always says "and the next day..." And then makes stuff up. Haha.
