Disney On Ice!

We were lucky to get some tickets from one of James patients to see Disney on ice last night. It was also Romans fifth birthday. He requested Golden Corral for his birthday dinner mostly for the cotton candy.
Jess got to wear her "cin-lella" dress for the big night. It was so cute seeing all the other little girls in their princess dresses.
Jess held onto Logan's hand on our way up to the seats and she was pretty excited about it. She loves her Logan.
I think I was just as stoked as the kids. Maybe even more! Haha.
The show was all about celebrations. They celebrated birthdays, valentines day, Halloween, and Christmas.
She clapped and cheered through the whole thing.
She loved seeing all her favorite princesses dancing and skating around in real life. She even got to see all their princes.
It's Disney so of course they put on a great show.

Jayven was even so amused with it. He stayed awake through pretty much the whole thing.
One of her favorite parts of the show other than the princesses was seeing Lilo and Stitch. It's one of her favorite movies. She was dancing and singing to the songs from the movie.
We had so much fun! I loved seeing her eyes light up with excitement. It really made me want to go to Disneyland!
And yes Jayven couldn't take it anymore. The excitement was so exhausting that he passed out right near the end.

Fancy Hotel

Jordan won a free hotel night stay at a fancy hotel called the Raphael. We dropped Jess and Jayven off with uncle James and the boys while we went to the Temple. It's only the second time I've left Jayven and it was longer this time than it was the first time. Neither of us handled it well at all!
After the temple we picked Jayven up and left Jess to spend the night with her cousins. She was pretty excited about it but would have been jealous if she knew we went to a hotel. She loves hotels.

This place was so elegant! They had valet and the valet guys were dressed up in spiffy suits. And everybody was so polite and helpful.
We got upgraded to a bigger room. It had a living room, a bedroom and a giant bathroom with a shower, and a separate space for a hot tub. The curtains closed by a switch on the wall. Jordan was pretty obsessed.

The bed was comfy and had a bunch of fluffy pillows.
The chairs were pretty cool too. Jayven had a blast!

We would definitely love to go back. But it will only be a special occasion type of place. The price is a little too extravagant for just a regular stay. Thank goodness for our free night!

Kansas City Zoo

We've been enjoying having Jordan home during his spring break. We decided to go to the Kansas City Zoo yesterday. It was a nice 70 degree day and I think everyone else had the same idea as us because it was packed!
Jess was all ready to go check out all the animals with her new pink sunglasses. And Jayven took a nice little nap as soon as we got there. You can tell he was super excited to be there too. Haha.

Jess loved watching the little penguins. The animal she was most excited to see were the monkeys.

I think her favorite part of the whole zoo was the train ride!
Jayven really loved the train ride too!
It was such a beautiful day to be at the zoo. It was Jessalyn's second time there and Jayven's first time.

St. Patricks Day Parade

Jordan is on spring break this week so took a spur of the moment trip to the St. Patricks Day parade in midtown Kansas City today. We thought it would be a fun thing to do to get the kiddos out.
At first Jess wasn't quite sure what to think about it because the last parade she saw was when she was 9 months old. So she doesn't remember.
We rushed out of the house so fast to make it to the parade that we forgot to bring a jacket for Jayven. It wasn't too cold but cool enough for a jacket. So we kept him wrapped up in his blanket and he kept trying to get his arms out.
Jess loved watching the horses and Jayven loved watching it all. It was all very amusing for him.
There were lots of fun dancers and bands and step teams to watch.
Jayven watched some of it sitting in sisters stroller and bundled up in daddy's jacket.
While Jess and I sat on the ground.
I love any excuse to wear green since it's my favorite color and it was fun to see everyone else decked out in green too. Happy st. Patricks day everyone!!

Pictures of what's been going on lately

It's been a pretty uneventful winter for us. We've spent most of our time indoors and finding ways to keep ourselves occupied.
One of Jessalyn's favorite things to do is play and window shop at the American girl store. I find it just as fun as she does sometimes. We keep asking daddy if he will get us the new girl of the year doll. Haha.
Jayven is getting big and enjoying all the fun big boy things like riding in the shopping cart. He was super excited about it.
We take advantage of any day that it's nice enough to play outside. Which are pretty rare during the winter months.
I got Jess this Sofia the first look and find book and it's been her book of choice every single night before bedtime. Anytime I try to pick a different book she says "No! I want my Sofia book."

Jayven loves to hang out with his sister!

And he also likes to play with her toys! He mostly just tries to eat them.
Jess is frozen obsessed and takes her Anna and Elsa dolls everywhere she goes. She sleeps with them and when she wakes up in the morning they are already in her arms ready to start the day.
This baby boy is so much fun and makes us laugh every day with his silly little personality.
We took a trip to do some window shopping at toys r us. The best part was getting to try out all the cars and bikes.

Jayven really does adore his sister even though she can be a little crazy at times.
Jess and I went through some toys that doesn't play with anymore and sold them. Then we used the money to get something at the American girl store. Jayven just went along for the ride.
She picked out this cute tea set.

She's already had a few tea parties with her babies... Including baby brother.

The weather has been slowly warming up. So we've spent a little bit of time at the playground. Of course she needs her Elsa and purse right!
