Trunk Or Treat!

We had our annual trunk or treat at the church building on Saturday.  Us Flintstones dragged uncle James along as Barney Rubble since his Betty and little Bam-Bam's were in Arizona.

Jess got to see her friends all dressed up too. Addy was little red riding hood, Holly  was the "We can do it!" girl and Parker was the Hulk! So cute!

At first Jess was a little weirded out with all the people handing her candy. But eventually she got the hang of it and thought it was pretty amazing that people were handing her candy left and right to put in her "Punk"

I love any excuse to get dressed up. And it's even more fun to dress up in a costume and do my hair crazy colors like orange! It was fun seeing our friends dressed up too.
She was pretty stoked to have her very own pumpkin filled with her very own candy. She didn't let it go for a couple hours after. She doesn't realize but she's sharing some of her candy with mommy and daddy.

Pumpkin Patch 2012

We made our traditional pumpkin patch trip to Schaake's pumpkin patch this year. Jordan and I have been going to pumpkin patches since it was just the two of us but this one is really special to us.
Not only is it the first place we've ever been to as a family of three but it's the place we went to the day before I went into labor. Thank goodness for those bumpy hayrides! Haha.
It was nice and cool day to pick pumpkins today.
Jess was super excited because she has a new obsession with all the pumpkins all over the place lately. She gets so excited when she sees them and says "Punks! Punks!" She obviously means pumpkin. She's not being mean and calling anyone a punk. Lol.

We also saw some chickens. She loved seeing them and kept saying "Hi chickens!"

One of the best parts is the hayride out to the pumpkin patch. She loved it and called it a "choo, choo".
She wanted pretty much all the pumpkins but she settled for one she could actually carry by herself.
Daddy and I found some awesome pumpkins as well. We can't wait to carve them.

Just for fun...here is Jess right before her first birthday! Cutest little baby ever!
After she picked her perfect pumpkin, she wanted the "choo, choo" to come back so we could go play on the "Wee!" (Slide and swing)
We proudly hauled our pumpkins off to the car then went to get some apple cider and cookies.
Then we all got to play on the "Wee!"

It was very hard to pry her away when we were ready to leave.
Here's my cute little ghost and daddy helping in the background.

Then one last time playing on the "Wee" before we went home.

Jessalyn's 2nd Birthday!

Happy 2nd birthday to my little girl!
Holy Moly! I can't believe it was two years ago that I went into labor at 2 am on a Saturday morning and gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl 6:30 that evening after almost three hours of pushing. This girl has had a mind of her own since day one. And that silly little mind of hers surprises me everyday. She talks up a storm, she wants to do everything by herself, she is a big girly girl with a little dare devil streak and even though she loves mommy a lot she is a huge daddy's girl. It melts my heart to see how excited she gets when daddy gets home. She says "Dadda home!" as she jumps for joy and doesn't even know what to do with herself with all of her excitement.
The night before her birthday, Jordan, Sarah and I stayed up and decorated for her birthday with zebra print and Minnie mouse decorations. She was in awe with how pretty everything looked. And she knew exactly what it was for. She knew it was her birthday and she knew she was two!
We all went to the mall to browse the American Girl store. What's a better way to spend a girls 2nd birthday than in a doll store with the most beautiful dolls you've ever seen! I'm not sure who had more fun, Jess or us grown up 27 year old girls. We didn't get her a doll because she got a bitty baby last year for her first birthday. I think we are going to wait another year or so to get her a bigger doll. But we got her some accessories for her bitty baby. She needed some snacks and a bib and a bottle of course. She was pretty stoked about her American Girl bag and carried it the whole time.
Then she got to ride with Daddy on the merry go round. Notice her holding onto her red bag. Haha.
Then it was party time. Her favorite boys came over to celebrate with her. On the menu was "Hot Dog, Hot  Dog, Hot Diggity Dogs" aka Pig in a blanket to go with our Minnie and mickey mouse theme. And what's a party without pizza! Jessalyn's favorite food!
Then came the cake. Red velvet cupcakes with white cream cheese frosting and red sprinkles. I had to throw the zebra print candles on to the cupcakes because they were too cute to pass up.

She did a great job blowing out her candles with help from Daddy.

And then we got to eat the delicious cupcakes. And share some with Penny apparently!

Yummy! I think they enjoyed them.

And the part she waited very patiently for all day...the presents! Logan was very helpful with opening her presents with her. She preferred the presents that were wrapped. The ones in bags with tissue paper weren't quite as exciting to open.

Auntie Sarah got her some pretty awesome stuff. Two of them were her favorite things. Snow White high heels and a Minnie Mouse back pack!
James and Heather and the boys gave her some beautiful clothes for her Bitty baby and our neighbors got her a cute little Dora doll. Thank you so much everyone! She absolutely loves everything. And so do I!

She got to play baby dolls with Roro. He's a great little daddy.
And we had a to get a few pictures with our guests.
Sarah made me laugh because she said I've heard of parties ending with no clothes on but not a toddlers party! Haha! She somehow lost her dress along the way of her crazy partying.
