Living Room Makeover

So we finally decided to join the world and finally buy a new TV. As you can see we were stuck in the stone age with our awesome big old box TV that took up so much space. It's also crazy how much more space Jessalyn needs now that she is getting older. So with a new TV we did a few other changes to update our tiny living room. Here are some pictures from before and how it looks now.

BEFORE:
Jessalyn just started learning how to climb up on our coffee table. So we knew we needed t0 do something about that. And since it took up so much room we decided to put away in James and Heather's basement until we have a bigger living room to put it in.
AFTER:

Here is what our new updated living room looks like now. It feels so much better and gives Jess more room to run around.
Here is our beautiful new TV!
Our pillows needed a little makeover too so I went down to the fabric store and fell in love with this fabric.I got some good use out of my sewing machine and made these new pillow covers. I think they totally brighten up our new

Another new change is this little bookshelf we got to replace an old side table we had sitting there. And it fits all of our books in it perfectly

Ro Ro and Jessie Jess

Jessalyn and her cousin Roman have become quite the buddies lately. They like to follow each other around and do the same things together. The cousins slept over on Friday night and all Saturday morning they hung out with each other. Jessalyn had a bowl of cereal with no milk so Roman wanted some. Roman wanted a water bottle so Jessalyn needed one. Jess was eating a banana so of course Roman had to have one too.
Sometimes they share their toys and sometimes they don't. She was even nice enough to share her fruit snacks with him. She got a little mad at first when he ate it after she handed it to him. Then she realized that's what he was supposed to do. And since Roman is bigger than Jess he gets to boss her around a little bit. Haha.
I think they even understand their same baby mumbles language. Sometimes you can catch them having a little conversation. I love the way Roman asks where Jessalyn is when he doesn't see her. It's even cuter to hear him say Jessalyn. It's more like "Dess-wyn".
And here's a little video of the kiddies in action.

Jessalyn-isms

Jessalyn's silly personality has really been coming out lately. She is a little girl who knows what she wants. She is very determined. And boy does she have her daddy's temper when something isn't going right or she doesn't get her way. Here are some silly things she has been saying and doing.

*She says Uh Oh and also Uh Oh No! It's the cutest thing ever.

* She is obsessed with Micky and Minnie and Dora. But she calls both Micky and Minnie "Mimmy" And she calls Dora "Goka" I have no idea where she got that from. lol.

*She constantly has to have my attention. If I'm not looking at her she says "Mommy, Mommy!" Until I look at her and then she does something random and silly. She is a little show off.

* Her favorite thing right now is the Fresh Beat Band cd. We always play it in the car and she loves every song. I've even caught myself jamming out to the cd.

* She says "Yucky" when she sees something she thinks is gross. It sounds more like "Gucky".

*She is obsessed with cheese and pasta. If she is in the kitchen when we open the fridge she picks out the cheese and says "This" as she hands it to me.

* When I ask her if she wants to take a nappy she will either turn her head to the side which means no or says "Yeah" then grab a baby and head for the room.

*She also does this for bath time and heads for the bathroom.

*She tries to copy things we say. She copied Jordan after he asked "Where are we?" She said it about 10 times in a row after.

*She also copies if we sneeze or cough or do a certain hand gesture.

*She loves to dance and sing and will randomly bust out in a song going "LA LA. LA LA" while she moves her head back and forth.

*She is definitely a girly girl like her mommy. When we were at Walmart yesterday she found a pretty necklace and some bracelets and put them on and when to go show daddy.

More Riding in Cars with Boys

We went to the KC Auto Show in downtown KC for the second year. Here is the post from last year. I think this is turning into a tradition. Heather, Jess me and the boys met Jordan and James at the office. Got some adjustments, went out for lunch and headed to the car show.
Is this a vision of the future? Logan in the drivers seat while cruising around with Caleb, Roman and Jessalyn. Haha. At least Jess will have three tough boys to look out for her when they become teenagers.
Aunt Heather and Jessalyn were matching!
And she was having fun checking out all the cars with Uncle James.
Her favorite part was crawling all over the inside of the cars with her cousins. Maybe next year she will pick out which one her favorite car is.
This one was Caleb's favorite. Bumblebee! He was so excited when he saw this. I loved this one too. There were so many cool Transformers details all over the car.
And here was my favorite! I love sitting inside my future Tundra dreaming what it will be like someday. Haha.
Here was Jordan's favorite. Don't ask me what it is because I don't know. I'm sure it's very fast and extremely expensive though.

Baby Dolls and Little People

Jessalyn loves all babies. Baby dolls, real babies, puppies and anything that looks cute.
I did some shopping at a consignment sale and to keep Jessalyn occupied while Jordan waited in line, we looked and played with the toys. She was having fun pushing around the little strollers and shopping carts and at the last minute she found this baby doll. We let her hold it while we waited in line and when we tried to distract her to put the baby back she screamed. Luckily it was only three dollars so we gave in and she held on tight to the baby all the way home.
This morning she was buckling her new baby up in her old baby car seat.
She also loves to hang out on our balcony. The other day I think she was pretending to take her puppy out to potty because she was dragging him out and saying "Go. Go." Haha.
Penny doesn't mind sharing her bed or her toys with her tiny human.

Another thing Jessalyn is really loving right now are Fisher Price Little People. (I think I might be a little obsessed with them but she loves them too. haha.) A lot of them are so expensive in the store so I've been pretty lucky and found some on craigslist. We also found a lot at the consignment sale. I was Little People heaven. Haha.
