Trick or Treat!

This year was our third year dressing up as a family theme. We decided to be characters from Peter Pan. It was fun being able to think up an extra costume this year for Jayven.

We got Jordan's red coat from the thrift store and I added the ruffles and gold to it. We also got the hat from the thrift store and I put feathers on it. Jessalyn's wings and top part of her costume were also a thrift store find and I added the tutu on the bottom. I made Jayven's costume myself. I only needed a little bit of fabric for his tiny Peter Pan costume. I made the top part and the hat and the leggings were Jessalyn's when she was a baby.
And my costume was the easiest of all. It's a blue nightgown l got on clearance then tied a blue ribbon around it.
And of course I had some fun with my hair!
Jess had lots of fun with her buddies at the trunk or treat at church.
She's still pretty new to this trick or treating thing. We has to keep telling her to say trick or treat and to go get candy from the people at their cars. She gave up halfway through.

On Halloween night we got all dressed up again and I had fun making a sock bun on Jess' hair for the perfect tinker bell hair do.
Then we went out to Lees Summit to go trick or treating in her cousins neighborhood.

Technically this is her first year actually going trick or treating. Her first year we just pushed her in a stroller and then she passed out halfway through. Last year we stayed home. So this year she didn't quite get the concept for the first few houses. She wanted daddy to hold her and take her up to the door. Then after she realized all she has to do is knock on a door and say trick or treat then she gets candy! So she warned up to the idea and before we knew it she was running up to th doors along with her cousins.

The houses in their neighborhood are so pretty. It was fun to take a peek into each house. A lot of houses bad a lot of stairs to climb to get to the front door so Jess got tired pretty fast.
It was pretty cold but Our little Peter Pan was all bundled up nice and cozy and slept through the whole thing of course.
I would say it was a successful Halloween. Now I need to start planning our costumes for next year. Just kidding...kinda.
