6 Months Old!!!

Oh goodness! I know this is such a typical thing to say but...where has the time gone?! I cannot believe that is has been half a year since our baby girl has entered into this world.

On Thursday we had her 6 month check up. She now weighs 18 pounds and is 24 inches long. I've got one big chunker! And all that chunk is from breast milk. Haha.

She did pretty good at the Dr. but she is going through this stranger phase where she doesn't like strangers to talk to her or even look at her. So she cried the whole time the nurse and Dr. checked her. As soon as she was back with me she was fine.

She is a very curious and determined baby. She is sitting up completely unassisted now and when she is sitting up she wants to grab anything and everything that's close enough to her. She tries very hard and reaches for it with her little fingers then grabs on pretty hard. So everything must be moved away if we don't want her to have it. She already knows how to throw a fit to get what she wants. Oh man are we in for it when she gets older. If we take something away she will scream and cry until she gets it back and will be completely happy. It's pretty funny right now but I'm sure won't be for long.

And now that she is 6 months old she got her first food!
She has only had tiny little tastes of of little things from our finger tips. So we gave her some sweet potatoes for her first food and she loved it.

At first she made the funniest face but then she realized how delicious it was. She got very excited and started waving her little hands around and started grabbing for more.

With as much as she loves breast milk I guess it's no surprise how much she would like food. Next we are going to try some bananas. Mine and Jordan's favorite.

I love little messy baby faces! So here's a few pictures of Jessalyn's messy, excited sweet potato face.
