Jessalyn's personality really shows now that she is an almost two year old. She cracks us up on a daily basis. Here are a few things she says and does that I always want to remember.
•She has very good manners. When she really wants something she will say "peas!" And she will say excuse me when she wants you to move or burps. It sounds more like "scoo me"
•She can also be not so nice and says "move!" Mostly to puppy when she wants her to get out of the way. Maybe because that's what she hears us say.
• Whenever she is in big trouble we say "JESSALYN" really loud. So whenever she gets mad at something she will yell what it sounds like is "JEN-NA-NYN!" Nice try. Haha.
• She has music in her blood. She gets that from her daddy of course. She likes to pretend she is playing the drums when she's holding anything that looks like a drum stick and yells "ONE, TWO!" She also pretends like she's strumming a guitar when she's holding anything that looks like a guitar. She loves singing. I swear she is going to have all The Fresh Beat Band songs memorized by the time she is three.
• She also loves to dance. She always tries to copy The Freah Beat Band. And she's very good at copying choreography.
She is now talking in almost full sentences. Here are some of the things she says.
• No mama. I don't want to. ( I hear this about 50 times a day.)
• I want more cheese, cup, nums, snack, pizza, gink(drink).
• Let's go cars. (translation: I want to go.)
• Let's go nigh night. (translation: I'm tired. Lets go to sleep.)
• Ashes, ashes, all fall down.
• Puppy, mommy, daddy, where are you?
• You okay, daddy, puppy, mommy?
• Ooh pretty! ( to anything sparkly, glittery, princessey, or any kind of makeup.)
• Puppy eat it ( when she's trying to tell Penny to eat her food.)
• it drop ( whenever she drops something off the patio.)
• Dadda at work.
• Where dadda, puppy, momma go?
• okay! Alright! ( courtesy of her daddy)
• Good girl, puppy. ( it's even funnier when she calls me a good girl. Haha.)
• Mommy, daddy coming back.
• where's the mote? (remote)
•oh man!
• let me see
• it's hot!
And here is a list of words she has added to her vocabulary in the past few months.
• scawy (scary) or I scawed(scared) when she hears a loud noise or sees something she thinks is scary.
• coldy
• chair (she also thinks the word chair means to sit. She always wants to "chair" on the counter. Or she will tell me to "chair" on the couch as she pats it.)
• shirt, pants, shoes, sock
• kissy
• tickle, tickle
• apple (any red or green fruit or vegetable is an apple. The funniest thing is she yells apple every time we pass by an Applebee's.)
• game
• diaper
• candy
• color
• shower
• towel
• backpack
• hair
She even learned that Jordan and I have names when we were yelling for each other. Now we only call each other mommy and daddy so she doesn't call us by our names. Some more names she knows are:
• RoRo (of course!)
• Penny
• Grandma
• Grandpa
• Uncle James (but it sounds more like Jeebs. Lol)
• Caleb ( but its more like Cay-bot. Not sure why. Lol)
• Logan (but it sounds more like Logey)
• Aunt Heather is "Momma" because she is pretty much her second momma. Haha. Whenever we tell her to say aunt Heather she folds her arms ad gets ready for a prayer because she thinks we are saying "Heavenly Father" lol!
• It melts my heart when she sees a picture of Jesus and says "Chesus"

Pneumonia, Shopping and Cars!
Jordan wasn't feeling very well starting Saturday night but didn't think anything of it. We woke up and went to church on Sunday and he felt fine all through church. Then slowly as the day went by he slowly started feeling achy and having chills and by the time we wet to bed he was burning up with a fever. The next day he was pretty much stuck in bed feeling horrible. We thought maybe he just had the flu or something. The next morning he woke up on Tuesday and he felt worse than he did the past three days. Which is weird for him because he is usually over anything by the second or third day. We decided it was time to take him in to the ER because he knew something wasn't right. Jess and I stayed with him for a little while then left since we knew it would take forever. About four hours in the ER it turned out he had pneumonia! No wonder he was in so much pain and kept running a fever. We got his antibiotics and rested in our room where he's been since Sunday. Jess and I decided to sleep in her room since monday night to avoid all the germs lurking around Jordan in our room. Last night was the first night we slept in our room together again after we washed all the sheets and disinfected the whole room. We felt like haven't seen daddy in days since we were trying to stay away from him and he pretty much slept the whole time. He's feeling a lot better today but has a horrible cough that sounds like he's going to cough up a lung.
Jess has been very helpful helping me clean around the house with her new Jessalyn sized broom. Well, she actually makes more of a mess than anything else. Cleaning with her around is almost worthless. As soon as I put something away se takes it out again. She especially loves emptying out all the toys in her bins onto the floor. Being the OCD person that I am, everything has to go back into the correct bin. Haha. I can't believe how destructive one tiny little human can be. She makes our house look like a tornado went through it by the end of the day.
Jess and I got out the house for a little while on Wednesday and went to a kids consignment sale. I've become quite the thrifty shopper ever since I've become a chiropractic students wife. I love thrift stores, garage sales and my new favorite are consignment sale that comes around about twice a year.!my first one was last year and I've been to about 3 or 4 since then. You kind of have to search through the racks and all the piles of clothes and shoes but the prices are so worth it and the sales mostly consist of more high end gently used kids clothes. I stocked up on some important winter clothes like a fancy winter coat, boots, new church shoes and jeans. I even found her Christmas dress for only three dollars! What a gonga. I plan a little early. Haha. And I got her Christmas presents already too. It was hard trying to hide them while I'm shopping with her. And of course I was the mom with the toddler throwing a tantrum while we waited in a huge line to pay. She was so over it and everybody was staring as she would throw herself on the floor. I'm sure everyone there has gone through or will experience it in the future considering they were all moms. Lol. Oh the joys of a toddler with an attitude.
Jess has been extra excited since she can finally snuggle with daddy today. She got to enjoy her new favorite movie 'Cars' with daddy. She's been obsessed with this movie ever since RoRo introduced her to her two weeks ago. She pretty much only has the attention span for the first few minutes but she laughs through the whole thing.
That's what's been going on in this Sheffer home lately.

That's what my iPhone has to say about that...
Here's our past week in iPhone pictures.
She loved sharing peanuts with daddy at Five Guys. Yummy!
Jess was super excited when she saw this horse when we were leaving walmart. She was a little too scared to go up to it at first but kept saying "Hi horsey!" and "Mommy, see horsey." as she waved at it from afar. Then she warmed up to it after a minute and daddy sat her on it.
We went to a little playgroup with a few mommy friends to the Johnson County museum. It was our first time there.
She had fun playing some golf with her little buddy Parker. They mostly liked throwing the balls and swinging the tiny golf clubs as we made sure they didn't hit each other in the head.
One of her favorite spots was the little theater stage. She's a natural performer made for the stage. haha.
And she did a little farming on the tractor too.
Then we went to McDonald's with daddy and she got her first happy meal. She was pretty excited about it but only ate her fries and drank some of her apple juice. She just thought it was cool she had a little box to carry everything in.
Then on Saturday we went out to eat with James and Heather and the boys.
Roman and Jess were having a dance off showing each other their sweet break dancing moves.
After dinner we went over to walmart and tried on a bunch of slippers. Roman looks pretty awesome in these giant Chiefs sneakers slippers. lol.
Sunday Jess celebrated game day with Daddy and Uncle James and wore her Chiefs jersey in honor of the Chiefs game. And she enjoyed eating ranch dip with her hands. Mmm...

Camping at Milford Lake
Over the labor day weekend we went on our first family camping trip. Jessalyn and Roman were pretty excited about on our way there. Can't you tell?
Jessalyn was going to help daddy set up the tent but she decided to sit back and relax in her princess chair while sipping on a capri sun. She did a great job supervising.
That night we sat around the camp fire and ate dinner. She was stuffing her face with mac and cheese. Her favorite. Then of course what's a campfire without smores. I prefer my marshmallows nice and burnt. Yum!
The next morning we started out with some breakfast. Eggs, bacon and some yummy muffins.
Then the girls just relaxed while all the boys went on a little fishing trip. Logan caught a catfish and was pretty excited about it until he realized he wasn't going to be able to keep it as a pet.
Jess and RoRo loved all the time they got to spend together. It was fun listening in on their conversations. It sounds like they totally understand each other.
We were so lucky to have the playground right next to our campsite. That's really how close it was from our tents.Jess and Roman spent a lot of time over there while we all just sat and watched.
She was such a big girl swinging on the big swing all by herself. She even went down the slide all herself without any of my help. She thought she was pretty awesome.
The older boys took the pups for a walk. They were switching dogs right here because Penny was a little too strong for Caleb. She tends to take you for a walk instead.
The next morning Jess woke up asking for RoRo. When we opened the tent window we got a view of these crazy boys. I'm not quite sure what Caleb is doing but it looks pretty hilarious! haha!
Then we got ready to go out on the lake to do some fishing. At first she was scared of her life jacket until we asked Roman if he wanted to go. As soon as she saw him putting his jacket on she put hers on with out a fight.
Don't they look cute in their tiny little life jackets!
She helped Daddy row the boat.
While Roman fed the fishes all of his Angry Birds cookies. He thought they were hungry and needed a snack apparently.
Daddy caught a fish. Jess was pretty excited to see the "fishy". He let it go back in the water in hopes of finding a bigger fish. But the attention span of a two year old and three year old isn't very long so they were over it fast.
We cut our trip a little short because it was too hot and everyone was exhausted. We did find a delicious Hawaiian Ice place and got some on our way out. All the kids slept the whole way back home.
Can't you tell they had way too much fun!
